Hi beautiful people!
Today, I have decided to share with you 8 very simple ways to organize your life. This idea stemmed from a few different inspirations such as; school, travel, life and observing others. So let’s dive straight into it!
Write Things Down
Whether that is a grocery list, a to-do list, a thought… be sure to write things down. The most common way to remember something is to write it down. Get yourself a planner, sticky notes, a to-do list on the fridge, a journal – something that allows you to keep up to date with your daily schedule and week.
Everything Has A Home
Through the many years of travel and living out of suitcase 6 years of my life, it safe to say I still abide by this method. My former coach once said, “You don’t want to make it seem like you are living out of suitcase so unpack your bag to make yourself feel like it’s home.” I encourage you to find a home for your items. I am quite OCD when it comes to this. Whether you place your keys on the table, the dog collar by the door – make it a habit so there is less stress in the morning when you are rushing to find your keys to work.
Putting Things Away Immediately
This is probably one area that I have gotten better at. Once you make it a routine it becomes an almost instant habit. Don’t get me wrong, I still have a few lazy nights and throw my clothes on the ground but it does make your life A LOT easier!
Make A Family Booklet & Keep Finances in Order
As I have gotten older and I now live with my partner – a family booklet is so important. My mother has kept information of me over the years and now it’s my turn to do the same for my family. The family booklet should consist of social security numbers, birth certificate, passwords, family achievements like a degree or any piece of information that if a fire would to occur you can simply grab the booklet and you have all of your information with you. Again, that is an EXTREME worst case scenario but a fairly practical idea to have a booklet. You want to place all of the most important items in that booklet.
In addition, I harped on this idea in one of my earlier blogs but I cannot stress how important budgeting is. Thankfully, I started off fairly early but I would encourage you to keep up with a yearly even monthly budget. There is the 80/20 method that my husband and I have adopted. I am sure there are plenty of ways to budget but start early and enjoy the rewards in the end.
Declutter Your Space
I actually love to clean – is that weird? My husband and I try to stick with a specific day to deep clean the entire apartment but again sometimes life happens and plans will change. Nonetheless, make it a habit to declutter your space on a frequent basis. You will be surprised at how much work you will get done and if a visitor suddenly appears at your doorstep you’re not embarrassed at how hideous your apartment looks.
Meal Planning
I personally do not meal plan because I enjoy cooking dinner every night for my husband but I have seen so many of my friends meal prep over social media. It saves quite a lot of money surprisingly throughout the week, and it’s an easy way to have food already made without the hassle of cooking after a long day at work. If you have a busy schedule or are simply trying to find ways to save money meal planning is a great solution!
Monthly Clean Out System
Wow, so if you are anything like me and LOVE retail therapy (shopaholic) the 1 in 1 out system is perfect for you! Whether it is every month, season or year set aside time to clean our your apartment, wardrobe – the list goes on. The more you accumulate over time the more space you require.
Keep Your Paperwork Up To Date
When is the last time you renewed your driver license, passport or updated your iPhone? You must always keep up to date with the essentials you need every day just in case you run into an emergency. Make it a habit to stay up to date with things that involve importance so if you need to catch the quickest flight home then you can!
So there you have it. 8 simple ways to organize your life. I find these ideas very practical and so can you. I hope you enjoyed this post!

These tips I’m gonna start practicising real soon. There’s a bunch of clothes on my chair I don’t wear anymore that I wanted to sell on ebay but with no success but I’m gonna try and ship them off to a nearby charity or junk sale. Thanks for the help!
